Counseling and Therapy

  • Postpartum Support International is dedicated to helping families suffering from postpartum depression, anxiety, and stress.
    • Find local support and help here or call their HelpLine at 1-800-944-4773.​
  • Psychology Today offers a wide listing of therapists. You can search by location, issue (such as pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum), insurance, and more. You can also search for therapists specifically offering phone or video appointments.
  • The Motherhood Center's Day Program is intended for expectant and new moms finding themselves struggling with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, such as postpartum depression. Please note this is a paid program, either through insurance or out-of-pocket. Call 212-335-0034 for more information.
  • The Womb Room (located in Baltimore, MD) is a community for moms, covering everything from conception to pregnancy to parenthood. Their therapy services are continuing through tele-therapy and they are currently accepting new clients. For more information, please contact support@wombroom.mom

Breastfeeding

​For those parents who choose to breastfeed, there are virtual resources available for you in case you have any issues. Please know that breastfeeding is a personal choice for each family and does not always come easily and/or naturally. There is no shame in asking for help! 
  • La Leche League USA (LLL) helps parents, families, and communities to breastfeed, chestfeed, and human milk feed their babies through parent-to-parent support.
    • LLL has an extensive page about potential breastfeeding concerns during COVID-19. You can find answers to questions such as "Can I breastfeed my baby if I am sick with coronavirus?" and resources here.
    • LLL is also hosting free monthly virtual meetings via Zoom, you can find more information and RSVP here.
  • The Womb Room (located in Baltimore, MD) is a community for moms, covering everything from conception to pregnancy to parenthood. They have a variety of virtual offerings right now, including a free weekly peer-to-peer support group to connect moms along their breastfeeding journeys. They also have individual one-on-one breastfeeding support available. Learn more and register here.
  • San Diego Breastfeeding Center, LLC, is a one-stop-shop for judgment free breastfeeding support. They are offering free virtual breastfeeding support groups on a daily basis. No need to be in San Diego or California, these groups are available to parents all across the country. View their calendar of groups here
  • Many hospitals offer breastfeeding support and classes as well, some of which may be virtual during this time. Please try reaching out to your hospital to see if they have any of these resources available to you.

Physical Health

  • Indigo Physiotherapy​ (located in Baltimore, MD) is an evidence-based care practice of pelvic physical therapists and bodyworkers. They are currently offering virtual tele-health services for patients both within their local area or out-of-state. Learn more here.
  • The Womb Room (located in Baltimore, MD) is a community for moms, covering everything from conception to pregnancy to parenthood. They have a variety of virtual offerings right now, including prenatal and gentle yoga. Babies and toddlers are welcome! More information here.

  • Carriage House Birth (located in NYC and LA) aims to deepen the practices of Doulas and provide birth and postpartum services for families at every stage of their reproductive journey. They are offering free pregnancy and postpartum support groups here.
  • The Bloom Foundation is an organization that strives to decrease the stigma, share knowledge, and create a new standard of care available to all mothers to survive and thrive the most common complication of childbirth. They are offering support groups for new and expectant mothers via Zoom call. Learn more and register here.
  • The Shades of Blue Project is dedicated to breaking cultural barriers in maternal mental health by raising awareness and ensuring action is taken to break the stigma surrounding seeking treatment in the minority community when experiencing complications after childbirth. They offer an I.N.S.P.I.R.E. online support journal group every Wednesday. Learn more and register here.

Webinars

  • Mother Honestly, an organization who strives to propel women forward in motherhood, work, and life, is offering free weekly virtual chats on topics such as Mothering through a Crisis, Managing the Homefront Without Losing Your Mind, and the Psychological Impact of Parenting, Working, and Homeschooling.   • The Motherhood Center of New York provides supportive services for new and expecting moms, including a range of treatment options for women suffering from perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs).
